Most important element
The most important element to this story are the events that took place for D-Day to happen and executated with minor losses all throughout. But also, the dialogue of it in how informative it was with every detail to let the reader know what truely happened that led the Allies to win that battle. Both of these elements helped explain what the author was trying to get across to the reader. Some events happen before and after D-Day, that made it what it is today that all that happen. It was very good explain with the detail of the events and the way the author described them.
Mood of the book
This book was mostly suspenseful in situations, serious in others in facing death and desperate in getting revenge for what the Nazi party was doing. It was serious most of the times when, " for months, the soldiers had been herded from one isolated training camp to the next, forbidden to see their families and friends." For the reason, that the Allies didnt know when they would be able to strict because of the weather so they had to be strict when it came to giving passes to soldiers to go home and then comeback. But, at times in some situtions the book was very desperate like stated in page 9, " Churchill had been desperate to witness the strike into France." That made him and many other commanding officers anxious and annoyed as well because they were ready to strike back and take back what Germany had taken. Also, at times suspenseful when it came to the waiting to hear if the misson was successful or not Of which life or death situations was a big one like stated in page 26, " after a few minutes of keeping their heads down, they crept into the dunes and waited until their stretch of the beach was deserted." That was for many men their situations at times because they faced death at every corner they turned to. Over all, leads this book to have variety of moods/or tones in some cases in what the action or situation it is.
What kind of person the author is....
The author of this book may be fascinated by world war 2 as like me, that led to write this book. To let his readers know what truly happened on D-Day and what actions needed to be taken to accomplish it. You could also say , that he is informative in how he goes into great detail of things when it comes to locations in europe. Also, with the weaponary and vehicles that were used in world war 2 and nick names for each. That in end, makes him a some sort of a world war 2 historian if anything.
Purpose of the book!
Over all, this book was to meant to inform people of what truly happened and went on in the background during world war 2. That showed men willing do anything for their country to live free and bring freedom to the rest of the world if possible. For example, in Mr X meets the Desert Fox, men enlisted into the special forces to do secret missions that would could change who had the upper hand in the war. Also, in The Red Devils go to it, were volunteer men that wanted to be commando s that would go through hell to get the job done. In, both sections, the men trained till they couldnt feel anything at all so that they would be good at their specialty. Both sections gave a new perspective and inform of what they had to go through first before going into battle and die for their country if necessary and know that they died for the next man to be able to accomplish their mission.

Life as we knew it book review
3. Explain the position of the opposition and provide counterargument. (10)
Over all, i believe that i would recommend this book to someone in with its faults because of how fast of a read it is and how is it is to comprehend. Even though, some events throughtout the book are perdicatable. I would specially recommend this book to young adults and teens because they would just fall in love with it. But, the fact that it is set up in journal entries also helps with the fast paste reading , that leads readers into just going through it in matter of days to hours if committed. The way also how the author describes all the disasters happening right after the asteriod hitting the moon. That eventually lead every family around the world to follow the saying of "only the fittest will surive" and the weak will die.
But, some people believe that way that some events might have been too predictable made it boring and to easy for a read. That lead them to hate the book and never pick it up. Also, the way it was step up made people feel that they werent getting enough information. An that the author wasnt going to into depth to make it a little bit harder for the reader to figure out with the protaganist did what she did and the other characters around her as well. Thats what made it such a good book unlike others were their like 500 pages long with very complicated words that you may have no clue what they mean. The fact that it was in a journal form made it a faster read because next thing you knew you were more than half way done and then finished. Also, the fact in how the author described and led up to the disaster help build up excitment for the ending. In the end, i would highly recommend this book to someone if they wanted to read something exciting.
